Accessibility
Last updated: 13 October 2026. Version 1.0.
The standard we build to
You should be able to use The PM Code with a keyboard alone, on a small phone, at 200 percent zoom, and with motion turned off. Our target is WCAG 2.2 at level AA, the web accessibility guidelines from the W3C. We do not claim the site meets all of it yet.
In September 2026 we tested the site in Chromium, the browser engine behind Chrome and Edge. We checked:
- Keyboard: the sign-in sheet, the menus, the mobile menu and the Jobs page, using only a keyboard.
- Automated checks: axe, an open-source accessibility checker, runs in our tests against the WCAG 2.2 AA rules.
- Small screens: pages at 320 pixels wide, looking for sideways scrolling.
- Zoom: pages at 200 percent zoom, looking for sideways scrolling.
- Reduced motion: that animation stops when your device asks for less motion.
- Contrast: that text meets a contrast ratio of 4.5 to 1, or 3 to 1 for large text.
What we know does not work yet
- We have tested only in Chromium. We have not tested in Safari or Firefox.
- We have not tested on real phones or tablets, only at their screen sizes on a computer.
- We have not tested with a screen reader such as NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver.
- The September checks found faults on some pages. We are fixing them.
Report a barrier
Tell us what stops you. Use the form on the Grievance page and choose "Anything else about how the site works", or email us with the subject "Grievance", and say which page it was, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive tool you use.
How fast we respond
A barrier is a complaint about how the site works, so our grievance timings apply. We acknowledge it within 24 hours, with a ticket number. We resolve it within 7 days.
